PRP

PRP stands for “platelet-rich plasma” and is a treatment method that is achieved by increasing the amount of platelets (thrombocytes) in the blood plasma. PRP is used in many areas such as hair loss, skin rejuvenation and in the treatment of some orthopaedic problems. How PRP is performed:

1) Blood collection: first, some blood is drawn from the patient : This blood is usually taken from a vein in the arm.

2) Centrifugation process : The blood is processed in a centrifuge. This device separates the blood into its components and increases the platelet content.

3) Collection of platelet-rich plasma : The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) obtained by centrifugation is separated from the other blood components.

4) Application : The PRP obtained is injected into the treatment area or applied to the skin. For example, it can be injected into the scalp to treat hair loss.

It is assumed that PRP accelerates the healing process and promotes tissue regeneration due to the growth factors it contains. However, the scientific consensus on the effectiveness of PRP has not yet been fully clarified, which is why it is important to consult a specialist before using it.
